【Fragrance Seminar Special Feature】From "Fragrance Fundamentals" to "Business Applications" and "Hands-On Workshops"

BEYOND BEAUTY TOKYO 2026, the international exhibition shaping the future of the beauty industry, will host a wide range of seminars for beauty professionals from around the world. In this feature, we highlight three fragrance-related seminars. MAHO (Maho Yamada)
Captivated by fragrance from an early age, she gained experience in the industry before going independent. She advocates refining the olfactory senses—closely tied to emotion and memory—as a path to self-expression and improved quality of life. Her fragrance advocacy activities include seminars, media appearances, creative direction, and sales training support. She is also known as a pioneer in fragrance counseling. Her appointment-based personal fragrance selection service, which transcends brand boundaries and draws out each individual's unique charm without involving sales, is popular among both men and women.

After a combined 20 years at the Parfums Christian Dior Japon liaison office and Elizabeth Arden Inc., she became independent. Together with her husband, she ran fragrance import and wholesale operations at Forte Co., Ltd. for 30 years.

Speaker Profile
Fumie Yamashita
Graduated from Ferris Jogakuin Junior College. After studying a wide range of fragrance disciplines including perfumery and aromatherapy, she attended ASFO GRASSE, a perfumery school in Grasse, France. Under the concept of Fragrance Art (education) and Fragrance Therapy (healing), she developed her own unique world of scent under the title "KOUGAKU" (learning to enjoy fragrance). She is broadly active in olfactory education through "KOUGAKU"—an approach focused not on studying fragrance, but on enjoying it as a form of aesthetic and lifelong education. As a fragrance designer, she has created numerous custom scents commissioned by both corporations and individuals.
